Das moderne ukrainische Theater entwickelt sich seit Beginn des 21. Jahrhunderts im Kontext einer engen und fruchtbaren Interaktion mit dem weltweiten Kulturprozess. Seine Betrachtung ist ohne eine komplexe Analyse der szenografischen Techniken und Prinzipien der Gestaltung des Spielraums nicht möglich. Die im Theater verkörperte integrierte Synthese der Künste regte die Suche nach Möglichkeiten zur Einführung moderner Massenmedientechnologien, neuer Materialien und visueller Techniken in die Szenografie an. Gerade diese Periode war die produktivste in Bezug auf innovative szenografische Lösungen, die auf den Entdeckungen der Künstler des 20. Jahrhunderts basierten. Für die moderne Kunstwissenschaft wird es aktuell, nicht nur die Besonderheiten der Szenografie selbst zu untersuchen, sondern auch den Einfluss anderer visueller Kunstformen auf ihre Entstehung.
