Das Vaticanische Concil und die Priestehe (The Vatican Council and Priestly Marriage) by P. Gschwind, writing as Peregrin, offers a detailed examination of the Vatican Council's impact on the issue of priestly celibacy, while simultaneously providing insights into cultural and social history. This first volume (I. Hälfte) delves into the historical context surrounding the debates and decisions related to clerical marriage within the Catholic Church.
Gschwind's work contributes to a broader understanding of the 19th-century religious and social landscape, making it a valuable resource for those interested in the history of the Catholic Church and the evolving norms surrounding its clergy. The book explores the cultural and ethical dimensions interwoven with religious doctrine, offering a nuanced perspective on a contentious subject.
