From secondary literature we know that the legal dispute about the construction of John of Legnano's will was well known and subject of legal education in the Early Modern Period. Its details, however, were unknown. By editing, translating and annotating the manuscript of a consilium by the famous jurist Felinus Sandeus, this thesis sheds light on that dispute and provides insight into the characteristic structure of a legal consultant's work.
