Onkelos und Peschittho: Studien über das Alter des Onkelos'schen Targums, examines the historical relationship between the Targum Onkelos and the Peshitta. This German-language study by Joseph Maria Schönfelder delves into the origins and development of the Targum Onkelos, an important Aramaic translation of the Hebrew Bible, and compares it with the Peshitta, a standard version of the Bible in Syriac Christianity. The book offers insights into the textual history and interpretation of the Old Testament, providing valuable information for scholars of Jewish and Christian biblical traditions. It remains a significant resource for understanding the development of biblical texts and their interpretation in antiquity.
