Informel was the central artistic innovation in the art oft he 1950s and still remains influential today. The Research Center for Art Informel, which is dedicated to intensifying the rather sparse research in the area in recent years, has been part oft he Department of Art History oft he University of Bonn since 2019. A series of publications by the research center starting in 2022 documents ist projects and will provide an innovative contribution to research on Art Informel a global and transdisciplinary perspective. Current research contributions--in the form of both collections of essays and monographs--will thus primarily be published, along with important foreign-language source texts on Art Informel redacted in German translation.
