Hühner stehen in der Mythologie für Kraft und Macht. Dies ist kein Wunder. Schlie lich stammen die Hühner laut dem Naturforscher Thomas Henry (1925 bis 1995) von gefährlichen Raubsauriern ab. Die Veränderung von den geschuppten Lebewesen bis zum heutigen Huhn dauerte aber lange Zeit. Schon vor 150 Millionen Jahren sollen die Schuppen gegen die Federn getauscht wurden sein. Lediglich an den Fü en sind die Schuppen auch noch heute vorhanden. Ebenso erinnert das Gelege an die Vorfahren. Die Dinosaurier-Vögel hatten jedoch Eier mit weniger Kalk. Irgendwann weit vor Christi Geburt wurde dann damit begonnen, die Hühner zu zähmen. Laut Knochenfunden aus der Jungsteinzeit war dies vor ungefähr 8000 Jahren. Damals verging das Jäger- und Sammlertum und die Menschen wurden sesshaft. In Europa gab es die ersten Hühnerhaltungen wahrscheinlich in der frühen Eisenzeit ...
