This is a memorial oration (Gedächtnisrede) delivered in honor of Ignaz von Döllinger, a prominent German theologian, priest, and church historian. The eulogy, delivered by Carl Adolf Cornelius, reflects on Döllinger's life, work, and intellectual contributions. It serves as both a biographical tribute and an analysis of Döllinger's impact on religious thought and German intellectual history.
The oration likely delves into Döllinger's scholarly achievements, his theological positions, and his role within the context of 19th-century religious debates. It offers valuable insights into the life and legacy of a significant figure in German religious history, making it of interest to scholars and readers interested in theology, church history, and the intellectual history of Germany.
