The present issue gives an insight in the research of displaced persons (DPs) in Austria and Germany. Four contributions focus on the phenomenon of this assumingly largest refugee and immigrant group of Austria's and Germany's recent history from different perspectives and present new approaches. The authors plead for a culture-historical approach and therefore breathe new life into this study field.
