Berlin 1945 zeigt fast 200 schwarz-wei e Fotos von Berlin unmittelbar nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, die von sowjetischen Armeefotografen aufgenommen worden sind, darunter Mark Redkin and Jewgenij Chaldej, aber auch von Deutschen, die für die Rote Armee arbeiteten, wie Otto Donath. Es sind herzzerrei ende Bilder von ausgebombten Stra en, brennenden Häusern, toten Soldaten und verlorenen Kindern. Der Text ist von Michael Brettin, promovierter Historiker und Slavist und Leiter der Sonntagsbeilage des Berliner Kurier. Das Vorwort stamm von Stephen Kinzer, zur Wende Büroleiter der New York Times in Berlin.
Alle Fotos stammen aus dem Archiv von Berliner Zeitung und von der (damals noch) BZ am Abend, aber auch der sowjetischen Armeezeitung Tägliche Rundschau. Sie landeten im Archiv des Berliner Verlags, damals der grö te Zeitungsverlag in Ost-Berlin. Als der Berliner Verlag am 1973 in die Karl-Liebknecht-Stra e zog, wurde das Archiv mitgenommen; auch die Fotos der 1955 eingestellten Tägliche Rundschau. Die Fotos - viele davon zerknittert, zerkratzt, befleckt und auf schlechtem Papier gedruckt - wurden in Hängeregister gepackt und vergessen. Erst, als die Mauer fiel, ging Peter Kroh, der damalige Fotoredakteur der BZ am Abend, der nun Berliner Kurier hie , ins Archiv, aus schierer Neugier. Er sichtete tausende von Fotos, viele ohne Quelle, aber er wusste, er hatte einen Schatz gefunden. Die Fotos wurden in Deutschland unter dem Titel Berlin nach dem Krieg veröffentlicht.

Wir haben auch zwei Theaterstücke von Ernst Toller übersetzen lassen.
Zu den deutschen Büchern zählen Reiseberichte über Amerika von Egon Erwin Kisch, Alfred Kerr und Roda Roda und ein bislang unveröffentlichter Roman des Kunstkritikers Julius Meier-Graefe über Südfrankreich. Geplant ist auch ein Buch über das jüdische Südfrankreich von Alexander Kluy. Für Kinder bieten wir alle drei Bände von Die wunderbaren Fahrten und Abenteuer der kleinen Dott von Tamara Ramsay an.
Sowohl auf deutsch als auch auf englisch ist bei uns das Bilderbuch Flügel der Liebe - die Engel von Berlin von Lothar Heinke, erschienen, dazu Berlin 1945: Leben nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, von Michael Brettin, sowie Die Berliner Mauer Heute, ein farbiger Führer zu den Überresten der Mauer, von Michael Cramer.
Als englische Sachbücher bieten wir das Bruce-Springsteen-Buch Rocking the Wall an, sowie Burning Beethoven, über Deutsch-Amerikaner im Ersten Weltkrieg, beide von Erik Kirschbaum, au erdem Berlin For Free, ein Reiseführer für Sparfüchse von Monika Märtens, Mark Twain in Berlin von Andreas Austilat und A Place They Called Home, herausgegeben von Donna Swarthout über die Kinder und Enkel deutscher Juden, die nach Deutschland zurückkehren.
