George Mogridge: His Life, Character And Writings is a biographical work by Charles Williams that explores the life and legacy of George Mogridge, a British author and journalist who lived from 1787 to 1854. Mogridge was a prolific writer, producing over 200 books and articles during his lifetime, many of which were aimed at children and young adults.Williams' book provides a comprehensive overview of Mogridge's life, from his humble beginnings in Bristol to his rise to literary fame in London. The author delves into Mogridge's personal and professional relationships, including his marriages, friendships, and collaborations with other writers. In addition to chronicling Mogridge's life, Williams also examines his literary output, analyzing the themes and motifs that run throughout his works. He explores Mogridge's use of humor, his moral and religious messages, and his depictions of social issues such as poverty and injustice.Overall, George Mogridge: His Life, Character And Writings is a fascinating portrait of a little-known but influential figure in British literature.
