Genkouyoushi is a traditional manuscript paper for Japanese writing. It is especially useful to students for practice or formal assignments. Each page is printed with vertical columns of squares, with each square designed to accommodate a single Japanese character or punctuation mark. Unlike other Genkouyoushi, our notebook may be used with any type of writing instrument (pencil, pen or ink brush) with or without a shitajiki (under-sheet) and each template square allows for correct spacing of characters to fit one kanji, hiragana or katakana. A perfect tool to learn Japanese writing.

IT'S A MANUSCRIPT BUILT TO LAST- The sturdy cover is made of tough paperback with strong, secure professional trade binding so the pages won't fall out after a few months of use.
WELL-CRAFTED INTERIOR- We used only thick, white paper to avoid ink bleed-through (extra blank sheets might be needed for brush pens). All the lines are printed dark grey, instead of pure black, so the lines are less distracting while writing & reading.
INTELLIGENT AND ECONOMICAL DESIGN- With 10 columns of 1/2inch-wide squares, 11/32 in (8.7 mm) spacing between lines, spaces are therefore big enough for writers of any skill levels and of any ages. The ample space on top and bottom is not only to make reading easier but also to accommodate footnotes for study.
