The Garden of Epicurus is a novel by French author Anatole France. The book tells the story of a young man named Euphorion who, disillusioned by the corruption and hypocrisy of society, decides to join a group of philosophers in a garden modeled after the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus. In this idyllic setting, Euphorion learns about the teachings of Epicurus, which emphasize the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. As he becomes more immersed in the philosophy, Euphorion begins to question his own beliefs and values, and ultimately finds a new sense of purpose and meaning in life. Along the way, he encounters a cast of colorful characters, including a beautiful courtesan, a cynical philosopher, and a wise old gardener. The Garden of Epicurus is a thought-provoking and engaging novel that explores timeless themes of morality, ethics, and the search for happiness and fulfillment in life. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
