In his second collection of poetry, From Here to Institutionalized, Brooklyn poet, musician, host of the podcast Storytelling on Orchard Street and co-producer of The Very Swell Variety Show, Peter Solomita offers a raw and unflinching portrait of life on society's edges. With a voice at once tender and defiant, Solomita navigates heartbreak, loss, resilience, and fleeting moments of transcendence, giving voice to the forgotten, the fractured, and the quietly enduring. Moving through beat-up streets, shadowed rooms, and the landscapes of memory, these poems expose both the peril and the promise of survival, reminding us that even in the depths of struggle, hope and humanity stubbornly shine through.
