'I look after the children' - why did I call it that? It sounds like I'm just standing in for someone, minding them until the real carer arrives. I'm not a baby-sitter - that's not what I do. I'm bringing them up! I'm raising them! With my own bare hands! Those Olympic weightlifters, when they've got the bar resting on their chests, and they bend their knees and then push and stamp their feet down on the floor and lock their arms with the weight above their heads and let out an 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghh!' -that's what I'm doing with my kids. The adjudicators nod and they drop the weight. I have to hold the position for eighteen years. 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghh!' This is the semi-fictionalised story of a househusband. Expect to find questions of identity, claustrophobia and mental anguish with some funny bits.
