Filled with irony and drama, Flying Backward in the Sky by Jenny Lofters is a moving, character-driven literary novel. It outlines the pounding beat of a man's heart as he wrestles with passion and life along a rocky course. Poised and self-possessed, Victor Midwinter is thrown for a loop when he meets an eccentric woman on a beautiful spring morning in Philadelphia. Inexplicably drawn to her, he has a premonition that he has not seen the last of this woman. When their paths cross for the second time, they begin an unlikely romance, which triggers the darkest phase in his life as he juggles pretentious friends and his concerned, close-knit three-generation family. His life becomes even more dramatically amplified when two fatal tragedies occur in his presence, one on an island in the West Indies and the other on the streets of Philly. Victor searches for the calm in this bizarre storm of events.
