Throughout his life, Jackson Pichardo has been an enamored fan of the written word and an advocate of the values and ideologies that make up societies that manage to overcome themselves. For this reason, Flash of inspiration is a mixture, a hybrid, if you will, between poetry and reflection, which in this case works wonders. Others have tried to harmonize these two aspects and not many have achieved the results that Jackson has. I think it is, in itself, another blend: literary sensitivity and human and social awareness, which have made a book like this possible. It is a must-read-especially in times like this when our society appears to be on a moral and civil decline.
