This was one of those rare books I stayed up all night reading, and then picked up and read all over again. I don't know another word for it other than exceptional. - Goodreads reviewer J.R. A long time ago, Jack Pruitt and Charlie Hill shared a secret love affair under the North Carolina pines - and then never spoke again. Both men knew their families would disapprove - to say the least - so when word started getting out, Jack and Charlie reluctantly parted ways and started over. Although both men kept each other locked in their souls forever, they figured a reunion was impossible...Until now. Today, Jack checks social media and sees something shocking: Charlie is single again. And soon he starts wondering: why not contact him? Why not try it out? Why not ask Charlie if they could make one last try at it? After all, what does he have to lose? All of that is what led Jack to where he is right now: standing at Charlie's front door on Valentine's Day, waiting with a thundering heart for Charlie to open the door and find that he has returned. This is the story of what happens next.
