An inn is a place where often diverse experiences and purposes come together...and so it is with the diversity of poems in Firethorn Inn-an eclectic book in which the author skillfully uses humor, irony, pathos, and romance to add depth and nuance to each poem. Ranging from the very dark to the downright hilarious, these poems are divided into three sections. Section I is about the natural world. Section II deal with emotions and relationships, and Section III contains light, humorous verses-from minor daily annoyances to skewed nursery rhymes. The poems are primarily rhyming; some are free verse. Some are filled with intoxicating imagery, some are unrepentantly silly, and all are perceptive and beautifully crafted-making Firethorn Inn a must-have for any poetry lover's bookshelf.
