The Fire and the Rose is part spiritual autobiography and part theology that explores one question: Who will be saved? In this little book, I attempt to look at who God is in Jesus Christ, and let the love of God made known in Jesus Christ shape what I believe about God, the world, and salvation. I want to set the record straight: I am a Christian universalist who cares deeply for what the Bible says about Jesus. I doubt this book will convince my critics, but I do trust them enough to hear what I have to say here in love and unity. And I hope that the vision of universal salvation I paint here will be one that finds a larger hearing among my Christian brothers and sisters.
