The empire survived.
But so did the fire.
Jo:
For eleven years, I convinced myself leaving Maddox McKenzie was an act of love.
I buried the truth.
I buried my name.
I buried the girl he loved.
But I could never truly bury the boy who made me feel safe.
Then Maddox found me and uncovered the Ember I'd hoped had burned itself out.
The walls I've spent eleven years building are starting to burn,
and the truth waiting behind them threatens to consume us both.
I thought I was giving him back the future he was destined for.
I never imagined that leaving him alone would be the very thing destroying him.
Maddox:
I spent over a decade believing the girl I loved didn't love me back.
I turned the world over to find her.
Then-I did.
But she wasn't Ember anymore.
She looked like the girl I thought had abandoned me.
But the scars Jo carries tell the story of a life I wasn't there to protect her from.
She's stronger in some ways.
More guarded in others.
And still more broken than I ever imagined.
Every answer she gives only leaves me with more impossible questions.
I can't change the past.
But I can stand between her and the damage it left behind.
One thing is certain-I'll burn the world down for a future with her.
Fire destroyed us once.
This time, we'll let it forge us instead.
Finding Jo is Book Two and the conclusion of the closed-door duet. It should be read after Losing Ember and contains a guaranteed HEA.

It contains references to sexual assault, pregnancy and infant loss, physical and emotional abuse, stalking, kidnapping, violence resulting in serious injury, medical trauma, dissociation, panic responses, emotional distress, substance misuse, non-graphic sexual situations, and strong language.
