Have you ever felt beaten and betrayed by the world you lovingly embraced? Have you been faced with an adverse experience that knocked you down and stole your happiness? When we experience trauma, we carry the mark of those experiences deep within our souls. And while these experiences do shape us in challenging ways, they can also allow us to grow... as long as we allow ourselves to heal. In Fifty Scattered Pieces, author and poet Gina Marecki takes us on a journey. It is a journey that starts in the darkness, in a place of pain and betrayal. However, as she processes the events of her life through therapeutic writing, a light begins to shine, and a glimmer of light and healing begins to shine... brighter and brighter. As you read this book of poems, learn from the journey Gina takes you on. Process the emotions, those in the poems themselves, and those you hold inside you as well. Let the words wash over you, and perhaps, pick up a pen and begin to script your own next chapter - one of healing, and one of redemption.
