Far From Adequate Recompense is a thought-provoking collection of profound essays and prose that tell of the pilgrimage of a melancholy soul from unimaginable pain to healing and closure.

K. M. Miller's intimate and genuine style creates vivid images for the reader. This bittersweet account of unrequited love and a woman's struggle for redemption takes you on the emotional roller coaster that often accompanies the despair of two souls destined to part ways. In the poem entitled 'Amphoteric, which begins, 'You are a beautiful, golden Greek man, and ends, 'in my ear, you call me by another name, Miller unabashedly shares her fear of what might become for her, fractured hopes and dreams as her relationship with the man she loves, becomes an ill-fated conclusion. In 'Prosopon, Miller's prose concludes with the grievous verse, 'I laid quietly in bed studying the translucent sheer hanging against the open window, billowing towards me as if it was your hand, waving goodbye.
