Many sequels fall short of the original but author Jen Trinh somehow manages to deliver a fresh read and plot line and yet with all the charm, originality, and wittiness that had me fall in love with the first Burlfriends book. I've read many romantic novels and I have to say that this is the first one in a while that not only had steamy sex scenes (let's be real, they are great) but had well-developed characters AND a plot line I couldn't have predicted. -Fannie, reader and climber
The characters had so many dimensions, the puns were wonderful, and the storylines were complex and interesting. One of my favorite things about stories by Jen Trinh is how the characters have to grow into themselves, become individuals who are more true to themselves, before they can be happy together. It's such a powerful and important message, and this book is a perfect example for how Trinh does this so skillfully. -Sarah, reader and academic
