Facing Relationship-Based Violence: A Rural Kansas Initiative is a collection of nineteen first-person stories from people in rural Kansas whose lives have been impacted by the harm that occurs within relationships where love, trust, family, or closeness should provide safety, but instead are shaped by fear, control, and abuse.
Some voices in this collection belong to survivors. Others belong to family members, friends, advocates, professionals, public health providers, and community members who have walked beside victims and families. Some are remembering a loved one they have lost. Others are speaking from a place of survival, healing, and finding their way back to themselves.
Facing Relationship-Based Violence: A Rural Kansas Initiative includes a detailed community resource guide to increase awareness and encourage conversations that is applicable to all communities.

Enfrentando La Violencia En Las Relaciones: Una Iniciativa Rural de Kansas es una colección de diecinueve historias en primera persona de personas de las zonas rurales de Kansas cuyas vidas se han visto afectadas por el daño que ocurre dentro de relaciones en las que el amor, la confianza, la familia o la cercanÃa deberÃan brindar seguridad, pero que, en cambio, están marcadas por el miedo, el control y el abuso.
