A comforting book you will remember forever. Very convincing that change was a necessity for captive beagle dogs, caught not of their doing of misbehaving; - rather, strictly harsh big business at work. Here is testimony of what one volunteer witnessed upon receiving just one of these animals - It took over 20 minutes to coax the first beagle out of his cage. When finally, it took his first step of freedom, he was wobbly and could barely walk from lack of muscle tone. It wasn't until I walked over to the other beagle, still shaking in his cage, and touched his nose, that the other one gingerly took his first steps outside. The realization that these dogs are so neglected and abused and HIDDEN was awakening. I had no idea how hard it would be for them to adjust to the outside world. But they did.... And since then, hundreds of others we have rescued have done just that. They have not only adjusted, but thrived and are LOVING LIFE.
