Friedrich Von Logau's Sinngedichte: Zwölf Bücher is a collection of epigrams by Friedrich von Logau, a prominent figure in 17th-century German literature. This edition, edited by Karl Wilhelm Ramler and Gotthold Ephraim Lessing, presents Logau's concise and often satirical verses, offering a window into the social and moral landscape of his time.
Logau's epigrams, known for their wit and brevity, cover a wide range of topics, from human foibles to philosophical reflections. This collection showcases his skill in capturing complex ideas in just a few lines, making it a valuable resource for scholars and enthusiasts of German poetry. The editorial work of Ramler and Lessing further enhances the collection, providing context and insight into Logau's work, ensuring its accessibility and enduring appeal to modern readers.
