Brothers Peter and Percy are amazed when they discover that their late mother has bequeathed an estate in France to them. They are unsure what to do with it. Should they sell it or move there or let it out?
They offer a free holiday to their extended family to help them decide. Family members are very happy but face a long journey with overnight costs. The brothers make sure that their elderly, rich aunt joins them on the journey.
One family member has to break the law to raise enough money; this becomes a major problem later. All family members are keen to keep up with Auntie Marion despite the fact she is an avid nationalist and very narrow-minded.
All are amazed when she makes friends with an elderly French man who lives locally. The family works together and separately to try to end her friendship. This leads to disagreement.
Younger members make local friendships and enjoy the holiday. There are surprising developments for all older relatives, some positive, others life-changing.
