Into this dangerous atmosphere comes Ysée Montclar, a thirty-six-year-old photographer from Paris. She has arrived in Provence to escape a six-year relationship that recently ended and spend two months working on a photographic project. Instead, she finds herself unexpectedly drawn to Solène.
Ysée understands there is a profound difference between being seen and being possessed. A photograph can be an act of trust-or a violation. Consent, desire, intimacy, and freedom become more than abstract ideas as she becomes involved in the mystery surrounding Fontvieille.
Then she meets Lison Valréas.
Lison is thirty-two, independent, direct, and impossible for Ysée to ignore. She is also connected to Alix in a way that changes everything. What begins as an unexpected attraction becomes entangled with secrets from the past, unanswered questions, and a growing investigation.
For the first time, Solène, Ysée, and Lison find themselves drawn toward one another.
But none of them knows what shape that connection should take.
