Originally written, illustrated, and handmade as a one-of-one hardcover book when the author was in 5th grade, Frederick Finds His Friends has been lovingly digitized and brought to Amazon as a Kindle eBook and newly created paperback edition.
Frederick is a shark with a big heart, thick glasses, and one major problem: everyone thinks he wants to eat them!
With no family of his own, Frederick is incredibly lonely and just wants a friend to play with. But the ocean can be a judgmental place. Whenever he approaches Toby the Turtle, Larry the Lobster, or Sarah the Seahorse, they swim away in terror. They assume all sharks are scary, fish-eating predators, leaving Frederick shunned and heartbroken day after day.
Just when he is about to give up on friendship forever, Frederick finally gets a chance to explain his biggest, most surprising secret: he is actually a vegetarian!
Frederick Finds His Friends is a heartwarming, hand-illustrated ocean adventure about the sting of prejudgment and the joy of true acceptance. This timeless tale serves as a gentle reminder for children and adults alike to never judge a book by its cover.
