Ça semble être l'emploi idéal pour lui! Malheureusement, le responsable du recrutement n'est pas du même avis. Walter est trop petit! En plus, c'est un ver. Walter parviendra-t-il à convaincre le responsable qu'il a l'étoffe du poste? Et s'il est embauché, sera-t-il vraiment capable d'attraper ce voleur infâme?
L'histoire de Walter, personnage adorable et attachant, imaginée par l'autrice primée Maureen Fergus, est juste assez saugrenue pour faire rire les jeunes enfants. Avec son immense confiance en lui et son esprit optimiste, Walter ne manquera pas de conquérir leur coeur. Des informations sur les vers sont présentées tout au long de l'histoire. Les dessins de l'illustrateur primé Paul G. Hammond regorgent de détails astucieux (et d'inventions hilarantes!) et parviennent à faire de Walter la vedette de chaque page. C'est une histoire idéale pour développer l'optimisme et la persévérance.

Worm loves being a librarian but has decided it's time for a new job. He considers many options -- lifeguard, deep-sea fisherman, window washer -- but none of them quite fits his, um, skill set. Until he comes across a posting looking for a courageous security guard to keep a thief from stealing the Invention Convention's exhibits during the night. It sounds like the perfect job for him! Unfortunately, the hiring manager doesn't agree. Worm is too small! Also, he's a worm. Can Worm convince the manager he's got what it takes? And, if he does get hired, will he really be able to capture the dastardly thief?
