Années 1970-1980. Dans une petite ville ouvrière du Doubs, un groupe de rock, et quatre destins qui s'entrecroisent: Vincent, Manon, Adeline, Stéphanie. Vincent est un jeune musicien talentueux. La semaine, il travaille à l'usine; le week-end, il joue du saxophone dans un groupe de rock qui fait vibrer les bals de la région. Un soir, lors d'une soirée dansante, il rencontre Manon et en tombe amoureux. Sa vie lui semble alors n'être qu'un rêve. Mais tout bascule lorsqu'il est appelé sous les drapeaux. Contraint d'abandonner la musique, il perd aussi Manon, antimilitariste convaincue, qui le quitte. À son retour à la vie civile, Vincent n'est plus le même. Il devient cadre dans l'usine où il travaillait autrefois, continue à jouer du saxophone le week-end, mais l'alcool et les conquêtes féminines deviennent désormais son mode de vie... jusqu'au jour où...
