Le jour de son anniversaire, Alain reçoit en cadeau une grosse caisse et à l'intérieur de celle-ci, Alex, qui devra se mettre au service d'Alain et exaucer tous ses désirs pendant une semaine. En dehors du fait qu'Alain n'est pas du tout demandeur de ce genre de cadeau qu'il trouve déplacé, Alex, le cadeau, se montre d'une maladresse chronique en endommageant tout ce qu'il touche. Il devient peu à peu le bouc émissaire sur qui se déchaînent toutes les rancoeurs jusqu'au moment où... Situations burlesques, jeux de mots et personnages hauts en couleur ponctuent cette comédie où la tendresse et l'émotion finiront par côtoyer le rire.
