Restes avec moi raconte l'histoire déchirante d'une rencontre improbable entre une jeune femme dans la vingtaine et un homme plus âgé, atteint d'un cancer incurable.
Dès leur première rencontre, une intensité silencieuse s'installe: ils savent que leur temps ensemble sera compté, mais choisissent de vivre chaque instant comme s'il était éternel.
Au fil des chapitres, ils construisent un univers intime où la maladie n'a pas sa place: voyages improvisés, nuits passées à parler jusqu'à l'aube, promesses murmurées au creux de l'oreille. Leur amour se nourrit autant de tendresse que de cette conscience tragique de la fin, ce qui rend chaque geste plus précieux, chaque regard plus brûlant.
Mais derrière les rires et la complicité, l'ombre de la maladie progresse. Les symptômes deviennent plus difficiles à ignorer, et la fragilité physique de l'homme contraste douloureusement avec la force de leurs sentiments. La jeune femme se bat pour maintenir cette bulle de bonheur, quitte à s'épuiser, tandis que lui tente de lui offrir des souvenirs inoubliables plutôt que des adieux.
L'histoire monte en intensité jusqu'au dernier chapitre: une nuit calme, presque paisible, où il s'éteint dans ses bras. Le roman se clôt sur une image simple mais poignante: elle reste seule, le souffle encore chaud contre sa peau, incapable de lâcher sa main, comme si tenir encore quelques secondes pouvait repousser l'inévitable.
