Le Rendez-vous Supposé, Ou Le Souper De Famille is a delightful two-act French comedy by Henri-Montan Berton and Jean Baptiste Pujoulx, presented in prose and interspersed with arias. This charming 18th-century work offers a glimpse into the social customs and domestic dramas of its time. The play, suitable for both reading and performance, revolves around familial expectations and mistaken identities, promising laughter and entertainment. Berton's musical contributions enhance the comedic effect, making it a unique example of its genre. Readers interested in French theater and opera will find this a captivating addition to their collections.
