Recueil D'inscriptions Et Pièces De Vers, Faites A L'occasion Du Voyage Du Premier Consul Dans Le Département De l'escaut... is a collection of inscriptions and verses written to commemorate the voyage of the First Consul (Napoleon Bonaparte) in the department of the Escaut. This historical document offers a glimpse into the Napoleonic era and the public sentiment surrounding Napoleon's leadership. Composed by Égide Norbert Cornélissen and others, this collection showcases the literary and artistic expressions inspired by Napoleon's presence. It provides valuable insights into the cultural and political landscape of early 19th-century France. The verses capture the spirit of the time, reflecting both admiration and the complexities of a nation under transformation.
