La Parfaite Égalité Ou Les Tu Et Toi is a comedy in three acts by Dorvigny, first performed at the Théâtre National on 3 Nivôse, Year 2 of the French Republic. This play, written in prose, reflects the social and political upheavals of the French Revolution, particularly the shift in addressing people with the familiar tu rather than the formal vous, symbolizing equality.
Dorvigny's work offers a glimpse into the everyday life and social customs of revolutionary France, providing a humorous yet insightful commentary on the era's ideals and challenges. This edition makes a significant contribution to the study of French theater and the history of the French Revolution.
