Mémoires sur l'intendance de la Flandre offers a detailed look into the administration of Flanders, as documented by Dreux Louis du Gué Bagnols, a Conseiller d'État and Intendant of Flanders. This historical account provides invaluable insights into the region's governance, policies, and societal structures during the 18th century. Drawn from the writings of du Gué Bagnols himself, the memoirs present a firsthand perspective on the intricacies of local government and the challenges faced by administrators in that era.
This book will appeal to historians and scholars interested in French history, regional administration, and the political landscape of 18th-century Europe. The detailed observations and analyses contained within offer a rich resource for understanding the complexities of governance and society in Flanders during this pivotal period.
