Explore the historical significance of the Refuge de Sainte-Anne, founded by Mlle Chupin in France. This detailed account by Emmanuel de Quinsonas delves into the refuge's mission to rehabilitate 'les Madeleines repenties'-women seeking to reform their lives. Uncover the social and religious context of 19th-century France, and examine the refuge's role in offering shelter and support to women in need. This book offers valuable insights into the history of social work, religious charity, and the lives of marginalized women in 19th-century France.
