--- L'Histoire des Grecs, first published in 1757, is a satirical novel describing a semi-fictional organisation of professional cheaters in 18th century Paris. Beyond the tableau of gambling and cheating, the author mocks the good society and financiers of his time. This is the first re-edition of this work since the eighteenth century, with a scholarly introduction and notes.
