Les dieux gaulois n'ont pas disparu dans un grand fracas de fin du monde. Ils ont été recouverts, traduits, romanisés, christianisés, puis rangés dans les vitrines molles du folklore. Il reste des noms, des pierres, des sanctuaires, des ex-voto, des sources sacrées, des roues, des bois de cerf, des inscriptions mutilées et beaucoup trop de certitudes modernes fabriquées avec trois miettes et une louche de celtomanie.
Les Dieux Oubliés n'est pas un manuel spirituel, ni une reconstitution néodruidique pour soirées brumeuses. Noctis Draven y explore le panthéon gaulois avec une méthode nette: distinguer les faits attestés, les hypothèses solides, les reconstructions prudentes et les fantasmes qu'il vaut mieux laisser moisir au rayon sagesse ancestrale des marchands de fumée. Teutates, Taranis, Cernunnos, Esus, Bélénos, Lugus, Epona, Rosmerta, Sequana ou les Matres ne sont pas traités comme des figurines décoratives, mais comme les fragments d'un monde religieux réel.
Ce livre traverse les sources antiques, l'archéologie, les inscriptions, les théonymes, les sanctuaires, les rites, les offrandes, les druides, les paysages sacrés et la romanisation du divin. Il montre une religion sans grand livre conservé, mais pas sans structure; une mémoire orale puissante, mais vulnérable; un sacré attaché aux lieux, aux eaux, aux animaux, aux morts, aux communautés, aux cycles du vivant. Ici, la Gaule n'est pas une caricature de moustaches et de menhirs. Elle redevient un territoire religieux complexe, fracturé, parfois violent, souvent mal lu.
Les Dieux Oubliés est une enquête sur ce qui survit quand une civilisation perd sa propre voix. Pas pour ressusciter artificiellement les dieux gaulois, mais pour entendre ce que leurs traces disent encore: le pouvoir des lieux, la fragilité des mémoires non écrites, la brutalité des traductions impériales et notre vieux besoin de transformer les fragments en récit. Même les dieux meurent mal quand les vainqueurs écrivent l'étiquette.
