This is Volume 3 of La Légende Dorée by Jacques de Voragine, newly translated into French by Jean Baptiste Marie Roze. This edition includes an introduction, notices, notes, and research on the sources of the legends. La Légende Dorée (The Golden Legend) is a collection of hagiographies, or biographies of saints, that was widely read in the late Middle Ages. It had a profound influence on Western art and literature, providing inspiration for countless works of art and stories. This translation offers a valuable resource for scholars and readers interested in medieval history, religious studies, and the influence of hagiography on European culture.
