S'appuyant sur des documents officiels, des rapports internationaux et des sources vérifiables, l'ouvrage examine les mécanismes susceptibles de fragiliser une démocratie: affaiblissement des institutions, conflits entre pouvoirs, crise de confiance, manque de transparence, instabilité politique et difficultés à maintenir un dialogue national.
Au-delà du cas haïtien, ce livre propose des leçons de gouvernance démocratique destinées aux présidents, responsables politiques, futurs dirigeants, étudiants et citoyens qui souhaitent mieux comprendre comment préserver la légitimité du pouvoir et prévenir les dérives institutionnelles.
Une réflexion sur le leadership politique, la démocratie, la responsabilité publique et l'avenir d'Haïti, mais surtout un avertissement: conquérir le pouvoir par les urnes ne suffit pas. La légitimité démocratique doit être entretenue par les institutions, la confiance, la transparence et la responsabilité.
