Hurluberlu, Ou Le Célibataire is a demi-burlesque poem in three cantos by Louis-Abel Beffroy de Reigny, writing as Le Cousin Jacques. This satirical work, infused with new airs and verses, presents a humorous take on bachelorhood and societal norms. Accompanied by notes from M. De Kerkorkurkayladeck, this edition offers readers a glimpse into the wit and social commentary of 18th-century France.
Beffroy de Reigny, known for his comedic and theatrical works, brings his signature style to this poetic endeavor. With its playful language and sharp observations, Hurluberlu remains a testament to the enduring power of satire and the complexities of social life. This edition preserves the original charm and wit of the work, making it accessible to modern readers interested in French literature and cultural history.
