La Henriade is an epic poem by Voltaire, written in French, first published in 1723. The poem is dedicated to Henry IV of France, and focuses on his struggle to bring peace and stability to France during the French Wars of Religion. Voltaire aimed to emulate Virgil and create a national epic for France, celebrating Henry IV as a symbol of tolerance and reason.
