La Bagatelle, Ou Discours Ironiques, Volume 2, by Justus Van Effen, is a work of French literature offering ingenious sophisms to vice and extravagance in order to better highlight their ridiculousness. This satirical work provides social commentary relevant to 18th-century France. Van Effen's sharp wit and insightful observations create a compelling read that continues to resonate with those interested in the social and cultural landscape of the era. La Bagatelle is a valuable contribution to the study of satire and French literary history.
