The Franklin Expedition: Or Considerations On Measures For The Discovery And Relief Of Our Absent Adventurers In The Arctic Regions is a book written by William Scoresby and published in 1850. It is a detailed account of the ill-fated Franklin Expedition, which aimed to explore the Arctic regions of Canada in the mid-19th century. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the expedition, including its planning, execution, and tragic outcome. Scoresby, who was a renowned Arctic explorer himself, offers his insights and recommendations for future expeditions to the region. He also discusses the various challenges faced by the explorers, such as extreme weather conditions, food shortages, and the threat of scurvy. Overall, The Franklin Expedition is a valuable historical document that sheds light on one of the most famous and tragic expeditions in the history of Arctic exploration. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
