Francis Asbury, A Biographical Study by Horace M. Du Bose is a comprehensive account of the life of Francis Asbury, one of the most influential figures in the early history of Methodism in America. Asbury was a British-born preacher who became the first bishop of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States. Du Bose's book provides a detailed look at Asbury's early life, his conversion to Methodism, his travels throughout the country as a circuit rider, and his leadership of the Methodist Church during a time of great growth and change. The book also delves into Asbury's personal life, including his relationships with other prominent Methodists of the time, his struggles with illness, and his commitment to the abolition of slavery. Through extensive research and analysis, Du Bose presents a compelling portrait of a man who played a pivotal role in shaping the religious landscape of early America. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
