Francezka is a novel by Molly Elliot Seawell, set in the late 19th century. The story follows the life of Francezka, a young woman who is born into a wealthy and aristocratic family in France. Despite her privileged upbringing, Francezka is a free spirit who longs for adventure and independence. As she grows older, Francezka becomes increasingly disillusioned with the constraints of her social class and the expectations placed upon her as a woman. She rebels against her family's wishes and sets out on a journey of self-discovery, traveling to America and eventually settling in Washington, D.C.In America, Francezka meets a diverse cast of characters, including politicians, artists, and activists. She becomes involved in the suffragette movement and begins to fight for women's rights. Along the way, she falls in love with a young lawyer named John Maynard, but their relationship is complicated by their different social backgrounds and the expectations of their families.Francezka is a novel about a woman's struggle to find her place in the world and to break free from the constraints of society. It is a story of love, adventure, and self-discovery, set against the backdrop of a rapidly changing world. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
