Fragmenta Bionis Borysthenitae Philosophi offers a glimpse into the surviving fragments of the work of Bion of Borysthenes, a philosopher from the 3rd century BCE. Though only fragments remain, they provide valuable insight into his philosophical views, which blended elements of Cynicism and other Hellenistic schools of thought.
Bion was known for his sharp wit and popular style, addressing ethical and moral questions in a way that resonated with a broad audience. This collection presents the available fragments, allowing readers to engage directly with the surviving remnants of Bion's teachings and reconstruct his philosophical positions. Scholars and students of ancient philosophy will appreciate the accessibility and the opportunity to explore the thought of a less-known but influential figure from antiquity.
