The Fortunate Foundlings is a novel written by Eliza Fowler Haywood, first published in 1744. The story is set in London and follows the lives of two abandoned children, Tommy and Polly, who are taken in by a wealthy merchant named Mr. Stockwell. As they grow up, Tommy and Polly fall in love and ultimately marry, despite the obstacles they face along the way. The novel explores themes of social class, identity, and the power of love.
